So in a case of tempt the universe and the universe gladly bats at you, I am home sick today. I was always planning on being home sick today. Stef needed a baby sitter from 11 to 2, I leave my pumpkin butt for who knows how long on Thursday, I hate my job, it all just added up that I would take today as a sick day. I woke up yesterday with my throat closing in, and my eyeballs feeling as if someone rubbed pink fiberglass in there. This morning it has all moved to my nose. Which creates what would be a neat beat if it wasn’t for the crushing throbbing pain in my temples. So my mood is not high. As if to further mock me my brother was called this morning and told he is off work for the day. His partner has a concussion and can not drive. So he is not needed to work till tomorrow. Lesson being, learn from the ancients and do not tempt the forces that are stronger than you are.

So I am still left with my darling niece, only now I am legitimately sick (and really not looking forward to a flight on a sinus cold). And who else seems to be cranky this morning? Princess Pumpkin Butt herself. Here is my day so far:

1. Death match over putting clothes over her head. Result: My victory by the tiniest of margins and Skye in clothes that are in fact, way too big for her. I pretend I had always planned for her to look like a flower child in order to avoid a rematch where I may just lose.

2. In retaliation Skye rips my glass off my face and stomps on them. Now I need to get the glasses fixed. I wear instead the glasses I bought in Argentina which I bought by myself. Ever see what happens when blind girls buy their own glasses? Let us just say they are perfect for riding because I do not care if they get squashed out of shape in my helmet.

And finally (and it is only 1 pm and the baby is finally asleep) my darling niece proves she is in fact a dirtbag by head diving into the garbage to eat crunchy bread. Bread is not suppose to be crunchy, hence the reason it is in the garbage. You turn your back for one second to wallow in your bleeding eyes and gooing nose and look where it gets you.

:P
