Dropkicks To This Insanity!!

Posted by on February 27, 2008

Ok, enough is enough, the insanity involved in trying to get my German motorcycle license has reached the point where I think I feel a migraine coming on. For those who dont know, I first started to try this last MAY when I arrived and began to settle in. The problem is that though a Canadian car license can be transfered over, NOTHING from your motorcycle license can. So cue problem one, the cost of getting your license here. Between 1500 – 2000 Euros. When I first arrived here I was not working regularly. I was still setting up private students and I had yet to start with a school. So I began my in class time (as I had time) but that is all I had the funds for. Fast forward to November, I now had the money, but there is no time. I decide to clear my schedule and just go for it. Problem: the school only offers on the bike time from April to October. GRRRRRRRR

Soooo, now its February, and we (as in Patrick and I, since his German is obviously superior ;-) ) have been trying to schedule my written test. The problem is its only offered through the driving school, and their slots are not only when I am teaching, but during the 2 days I teach out of town. Last week my student was ill, so I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to take a break and get the written test out of the way. So I cancel 2 full days of work to write this test tomorrow morning, and now I come home to a note from the school saying that the office is out of English test papers, and so my exam has been cancelled.

I want to DROPKICK.

Good news: Saturday we are going to look at a F 650 for sale. With or without the German stinking license. (I wont be allowed to drive it though, just caress it and love it from afar.  As in my driveway.  Where I may or may not talk to it to let it know its a forced separation.  Romeo and Juliet style).
